Alcaftadine Ketrorolac Tromethamine Eye Drop are a drugs which is basically used for the treatment of Allergic Conjunctivitis and other allergic problems and it is mostly for relief from irritation of eyes, redness, and itching.

Alcaftadine, an antihistamine, is a blocker of histamine that blocks the release of histamine, which is the source of allergies in the body. Ketorolac Tromethamine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is beneficial in decreasing inflammation and pain.

Directions for Use:

Dosage: Use the eye drops as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Typically, one drop is instilled into the affected eye(s) once or twice daily.

Application of Alcaftadine Ketrorolac Tromethamine Eye Drop:

  • Wash your hands properly and dry them before using the eye drops.
  • Tilt your head back, look upward slightly or lay down on bed and pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
  • Hold the dropper above the eye and squeeze out one drop, be careful while doing and do not touch the dropper tip to the eye or any surface to avoid contamination.
  • Close your eyes for a moment to allow the liquid to be evenly distributed across the surface of the eye.
  • Repeat same process on the other eye if directed.
  • Re-place the cap on the bottle immediately after use.

Missed Dose:

If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule. Kindly do not double the dose.

Side Effects of Alcaftadine Ketrorolac Tromethamine Eye Drop:

Common Side Effects:

  • Temporary burning or stinging sensation in the eye after application.
  • Little eye redness or irritation.
  • Blurry vision for a short time after instillation.

Serious Side Effects (Rare):

  • Severe eye pain or irritation.
  • Signs of an eye infection (e.g., increase in redness, swelling, discharge).
  • Changes in vision.
  • Allergic reactions like rash, itching, swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, or trouble breathing.

Safety Advice:

  • Allergies: Before using this eye drop, consult your healthcare provider if you are allergic to Alcaftadine, Ketorolac Tromethamine, or any other medications.
  • Use in Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor before using this eye drop if you are pregnant, or planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
  • Contact Lens Users: Remove your contact lenses before applying the eye drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them again. Soft contact lenses may absorb preservatives in this eye drop.
  • Driving or Operating Machinery: The usage of this eye drop may cause temporary blurred vision. Kindly avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until your vision is clear.
  • Interactions: Inform your doctor of all other medications you are taking, including other eye drops, to avoid potential drug interactions.
  • Storage: Store this eye drop in a cool, dry place and keep away from direct light. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use, and do not use this eye drop after expiry date.
